CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ITS NEW TWITCH CHANNEL: A REVOLUTIONARY STEP IN FILM MUSIC STREAMING

Cinematic Sound Radio is proud to announce the official launch of its Twitch streaming channel, marking a groundbreaking moment in the platform’s history. This new venture, alongside Robert Daniels’ Visions In Sound streams, represents one of the very first film-music-focused streaming experiences ever attempted on Twitch, signalling an exciting new chapter for the film music community and digital broadcasting culture.

After four years of consideration and development, and after close to 20 years of being away from live terrestrial radio, Cinematic Sound Radio founder and IFMCA member Erik Woods is officially stepping back into the world of live, interactive broadcasting.

“I haven’t been this excited about something in a really long time,” said the host. “Streaming feels immediate, rewarding and unbelievably fun. Getting to rediscover and share my own collection with film music fans in real time has been incredible. This isn’t just a broadcast; it’s a shared celebration of film music. The listener’s presence and participation directly influence the growth of the stream and its future.”

The inspiration for this milestone originated from Twitch DJ VinylJunkies, whose daily vinyl streaming format sparked the idea years ago. When longtime collaborator and host of Visions In Sound and Cinematic Sound Radio’s Obscure Scores, Robert Daniels, recently returned to streaming, the final motivation clicked, and the channel was born.

Over the past few weeks, the channel has undergone intense preparation, including technical testing, music curation, graphic design, and community setup. Early testers helped refine the experience, ensuring smooth delivery and an engaging viewer experience.

What Makes This Stream Unique?

The Cinematic Sound Radio Twitch channel will offer:

  • Live music requests
  • Rare and unreleased score broadcasts
  • Interactive discussion with fans
  • Themed future broadcasts

One of the main purposes of the stream is to offer a community-driven platform for film score appreciation. During a recent test stream, for example, multiple versions of Michael Giacchino’s unreleased Semper Fi theme were shared and analyzed, the type of exclusive experience the channel aims to make standard.

With the launch of Cinematic Sound Radio on Twitch, the film score community enters a new frontier, one where live engagement, audience curation, and passionate discussion merge into one of the first-of-its-kind streaming experiences. This is more than a channel; it’s a movement.

The Twitch DJ Program allows its hosts to stream music sets using the vast majority of popular music. DJs who opt-in to the Twitch DJ Platform will be able to livestream the vast majority of popular music without risk of takedowns and will qualify for new opportunities on Twitch that they haven’t been able to previously offer. DJs can now play millions of tracks that are covered to stream as part of this program as part of Twitch’s deals with music rights holders. Any earnings that come from the streams are shared 50/50 between the DJ and the music rights holders like Warner Music Group, Universal, Sony, Atlantic, and hundreds more.

Cinematic Sound Radio invites film score lovers, soundtrack collectors and new listeners alike to join the growing community.

Currently, the streams are scheduled to air on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Dates and times are subject to change. Head over to Cinematic Sound Radio’s Twitch channel by CLICKING HERE to stay up-to-date with the broadcast schedule.

“I hope to see you on the next stream. Happy listening!”
