      Thanks, John. Thor Ragnarok is such a breath of fresh air. I’m glad Mothersbaugh was left alone to put his own unique stamp on things.

    Great episode, Erik. Mothersbaugh’s Ragnarok comes out here in the UK next week, and I’ll definitely be picking up a copy of that.
    100% agree with you on BR2049: a clever and visually stunning film that really didn’t deserve to fizzle out at the box office the way it did. Clearly problems with the scoring: I think before it came out many people were crossing their fingers and holding their breath, because Vangelis’ original is so loved AND so different … and what we got was … well, not bad per se, just a bit “meh”. I think we wanted something sparkly and we were given something noisy. Plus I think soundtrack fans were treated poorly by the farrago of the (presumably rushed) initial “limited edition” releases on the website that was confusing and didn’t work very well, without a clear declaration that there would be a regular release afterwards (personally, I trusted that there would be, and waited for it).
