IN THE SPOTLIGHT | 30th ANNIVERSARIES

Cinematic Sound Radio has rebranded the Track of the Day to the Cinematic Sound Radio Spotlight. The purpose of this program now is to not only highlight great single tracks, but as well as specific composers, albums, films, television shows, and video games in small doses.

For this inaugural broadcast Cinematic Sound Radio commissioned David Coscina to write a new theme.  You can listen to it HERE!  This weeks spotlight focuses on films turning 30 this year.

June 18, 2014 – We continue our look at films celebrating their 30th anniversary with Jerry Goldsmith’s wacky score to Joe Dante’s classic, GREMLINS. Film Score Monthly and Retrograde Records released the first ever score only album of GREMLINS  in 2011. This is the first time that CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO has ever played music from the original soundtrack recording on the program.

June 19, 2014 – We continue our look at films celebrating their 30th anniversary with John Scott’s sweeping score to GREYSTOKE – THE LEGEND OF TARZAN: LORD OF THE APES. La La Land Records re-released and remastered the original soundtrack presentation back in 2010 and included two new cuts as bonus tracks.  Lovers of old school orchestral film music will surely enjoy this. Unfortunately, the album is now out of print.
