Man, Giacchino’s Imperial Suite just reminded me what a masterpiece “Jurassic World”‘s score was, I’ll have to listen to that later.

Anyway, you definitely picked out the best pieces of Rogue One. Does that lovely theme from the Jyn/Hope suite on viola that starts out with the opening to the main title theme recur any more in the score?

The solo violin is exclusive to the suite, which is part of the end credits!

Wow, that’s such a great theme. Giacchino really knocked this out of the park.

(But I find Jyn’s theme strangely unmemorable)

That motif is heard again in Rebellions Are Built on Hope with a french horn starting at 1:08 and also at the very end of A Long Ride Ahead as a fanfare.

Honestly, the only track that held my interest was the Imperial theme suite/medley. The rest was solid background music.
I would have preferred a score similar to Joel McNeely’s Shadows of the Empire.

Great podcast! Wanted to give a personal shoutout to Chris Huelsbeck. His theme for Rogue Squadron is one of my all-time favorites.

Joel McNeely’s approach to the Star Wars Universe is for me the best one out of this Star Wars specoal show. Great collection here.

I also recommend some more of the older Star Wars Game music like music from PC games like “Tie Fighter” or “Dark Forces” But I think this would be more a Game music show with typical midi sounds…

Anyway – keep up the great Work, Eric! Best wishes from Germany!

With the game scores there is unfortunately still no recordings, there one will tribute as a fan still into the illigality when one wants to have there which to hear.
