Great show! I must confess though, I don’t have this recording. Yell at me all you want for it because I probably deserve it 😛

But the minute after I was done listening, I bought the CD.

Great news! I hope you enjoy the disc as much as I do!

I remember buying the original “Jedi” album in 1983 with birthday money (11 years old!). It was my first experience of disappointment with a soundtrack album – not because of the content, but because there was so little of it! A single LP, and no liner notes? What a scandal!

I have to confess, I am so attached to the special editions of the original scores that were released in ’97 (I bought them with feelings of guilt because they were a bit pricey on a seminary student’s income, but what’s a “Star Wars” fan gonna do?), I have trouble appreciating re-recordings — but this was a good one (even if it does take the Imperial March far too fast!), and I am glad to have heard highlights. Thanks!

I like the speed of The Imperial March. At least it’s not slower.;)

Flashback time! I used to have this album on tape. Back in the late 80s I was unable to find the score to “Return of the Jedi” anywhere. This was the only way I could get music from the film, so I scooped it up and listened to it quite a bit. I loved the concert arrangements on it and got a kick out of “Jabba’s Theme”. When I finally found “Jedi” a couple years later I was shocked that the this rerecording had tracks that weren’t represented. To make a long story short (too late), I eventually got rid of my tape collection and moved to CD and kinda forgot all about this album. Your show brought back a ton of old memories. Thanks!
