EP. 22 | 7 NEW RELEASES… THAT IS ALL!

On this week’s episode of CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO we’ll be listening to seven brand new film scores… and that’s it.  We’ll return to our regular format in two weeks.

Off the top of the program you’ll hear Steven Price’s loud score to SUICIDE SQUAD. You’ll also hear selections from the remake of BEN-HUR with music by Marco Beltrami, Christopher Young sensational score to THE MONKEY KING 2, Dario Marianelli’s adventure score to KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS, Austin Wintory’s atmospheric score to the video game ABZU, Alexander Cimini’s triumphant work on DARK WAVES and we’ll end the program with Rob Simonsen’s infectious 80’s retro synth score to NERVE.

“Steven Price’s loud score to SUICIDE SQUAD.” Ha! I haven’t even listened to the episode and that tells me all I need to know. 😉

Enjoy the show… trust me… it gets better once you get past the first two scores. 😉

Oh, I never have doubts about the quality of *your show.* I just meant I could tell from your choice of adjective what you thought of that score right away. 🙂

Ha! Well, the good out weights the bad this week! 😉

In difference in quality between the first two scores in the show and Monkey King 2 is incredible. Makes we wonder how great a Young score for Suicide Squad and/or Ben-Hur might have been.

I must say, one of the negatives of being a score fan is thinking of all these missed opportunities and amazing scoring assignments that never happened.

I’m glad you picked up on the contrast because I did that on purpose. I wanted to get those two disappointing efforts of the way and then bowl you over with the brilliance of the rest of the program, especially The Monkey King 2. Thanks for listening and commenting.
