Yesterday was legendary composer Elmer Bernstein’s 90th birthday.  The last link to Hollywood’s Golden Age passed away on August 18th, 2004.  Three days later I produced a 3-hour tribute to the Academy Award-winning composer featuring over 35 of Bernstein’s greatest themes and cues.  CLICK HERE to listen to that program which originally aired Saturday August 21, 2004 on C101.5 FM in Hamilton, Ontario.

In addition, please enjoy my review of Bernstein’s TRUE GRIT re-recorded by Tadlow Music featuring the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by James Fitzpatrick.

And just in time for Easter we would like to invite you to have a listen to Tim Burden’s Easter Special which was produced last year exclusively for Cinematic Sound.

On that program Burden presented suites from BEN-HUR (Rozsa), AMAZING GRACE (Arnold), KING OF KINGS (Rozsa), THE ROBE (Newman) THE PRINCE OF EGYPT (Zimmer/Schwartz), HOP (Lennertz) and THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (Bernstein).  CLICK HERE to listen to the program.
